Born and raised on a farm near Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. Married to Joan Prudat, nee Brandenburg, for 42 great years and counting. Moved to St. Walburg to be close to family, but this is one of the nicest areas of Canada in which to live. It is safe here, the people are honest, helpful and so very nice. I joined the Canadian Military at a young age, graduated from the Canadian Forces Command and Staff College in Toronto and Memorial University in Newfoundland. I have spent many years at sea and was the Captain of one of Canada’s helicopter equipped destroyers that had a crew of 300 sailors and which operated globally. After 37 years of Military service I retired and joined the Federal Public Service as a senior Federal Government Employee and was employed, in Ottawa, by the Centre for Operational Research and Analysis (CORA). After 45 plus years combined military and civil service to Canada, I have retired to St. Walburg. I am an accomplished off shore sailor having raced sailing yachts many thousands of miles in most oceans and I have circumnavigated the world. My hobbies are golfing, genealogy and reading and I am trying to become a fisherman.

I grew up in the area on an acreage by Turtleford and growing up spent many hours volunteering and was the Vice President of their Ag Society. I began working at the SLGA Liquor Store in St. Walburg in 2002 when I was 19 years old and have continued with that career path ever since. I have volunteered on many clubs and organizations in St. Walburg and in the area over the years; I am the Secretary for the Curling Club and have sat on the committee for the St. Walburg Festival of Trees. I have volunteered at events such as the Knight of Columbus Dinner Theatre in St Walburg, the St. Walburg Fair and the Wild Blueberry Festival and recently have joined the Chamber of Commerce. I am also the President of the Spruce Lake Community Centre and am involved their annual Dinner Theatre every spring. In 2007 I decided to make St. Walburg my permanent home and began plans to build a house. Construction began in the spring of 2008 and the entire project was built by myself and my parents. In 2012 SLGA offered me the opportunity of full time employment as manager of their Lloydminster location, I accepted and have commuted ever since. With the recent announcement by Government to Close a number of SLGA Liquor Stores I will soon be unemployed due to the store closures and no longer commuting. I intend to return to find work in the St. Walburg area and to continue my volunteerism and betterment of the St. Walburg area.

Jamie is also very proud of his eldest that just graduated high school as he did in 1996 in Sherwood park. He looks forward to his youngest carrying on the mantle in engineering like his father has who graduated from chemical engineering in 2004.As Jamie’s career progressed he found himself working within multiple government agencies, municipal authorities and volunteering within his communities. Jamie has always tried to make it to Bright Sand as an annual summer event. As the economic downturn turn occurred Jamie ended uprooting his family for a more familiar place that has always been home. Moving to St. Walburg in June of 2015.
As a candidate for council of St. Walburg he would like to see: – Improvements in water quality – Updates and changes to specific by-laws – Increase family activities/events for the town of St. Walburg In addition to this, overall a better economic diversification for the town of St. Walburg.
